Yoga CPD (1 day course): The Bhagavad Gita

This CPD day is for teachers and students alike - a chance to delve a little deeper into some of the foundational philosophy of this beautiful practice.

“The Song of the Lord” is a 700 verse, 18-chapter Hindu scripture in Sanskrit that is part of the Hindu epic Mahabharata and contains the essence of the wisdom from Vedanta philosophy.

The setting is a battlefield in which we find the warrior Arjuna at crisis point, deciding whether to fight and kill his own people and family. He turns to his spiritual guide, Sri Krishna (Arjuna’s charioteer) for answers to his questions.

The battlefield can be seen as a metaphor for life and the battles we wage within ourselves to find our true purpose & meaning in the world.

Learn in depth what Karma yoga, Jnana yoga and Bhakti yoga really mean. Discover the path of self-knowledge and enlightenment. Ask those big life and death questions to yourself on your quest to self-discovery, as we journey through the Bhagavad Gita’s main themes together.

It will be a day of deep learning, self-discovery, pondering, reflection and possibly revelations.

If you can bring your own copy of the text, please do and read prior to the day, this will aid your learning and process of understanding.
